Read vv11-12. How is this event apocalyptic? Clue: we do not normally see or hear angels and demons. What was the previous apocalyptic event in Mark? How is God through Jesus meeting the longings of the Jews?
What do we learn about Jesus and the unseen realm?
3:13–19—Jesus’ selection of the 12 apostles
What is the significance of mountains and encounters with God in the bible? Can you think of some bib events that happened on mountains?
Does this throw any light on the tower of Babel [Genesis 11:1-9]? How about the high places in the OT rebellions? What false worship might attract us today?
3:20–35—Controversies over Beelzebub and family
If all sins will be forgiven [v28] what is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit [vv29-30]? How does your answer align with Hebrews 3:7-16, 6:1-12?
