Questions [from Pastor Dave]
This is our third week in Exodus 34:6-7. What stood out or challenged you in the passage today?
The Loyal Love of God keeps promise, is fully committed to relationship with self-giving generosity. To whom are you showing loyal love presently. How is that person, or persons, experiencing loyal love from you? (Fulfilled promise, commitment, generosity)
Evidence of God’s Loyal Love, in creation and towards the created in forgiveness.
In what way does knowing God’s character of loyal love in creation and towards you in forgiveness, cultivate a sense of trust as you serve Him?
Examples of loyal love in the character of humans, in the actions of Joseph, Ruth and King David. Are you able to show loyal love, in such a way, that you are NOT motivated by repayment, acknowledgement or reward?
God showing loyal love in our stories, in practical ways, like finding a wife, and even when undeserved such as Jacob; ultimately by Jesus. We live in societies of ‘entitlement’. Do you consider you are entitled to God’s Loyal Love? What might a better heart attitude be?
Read the passage again and note anything else that stands out or challenges you. Pray that the Holy Spirit would enable you to change and be more like Jesus and demonstrate the unity we have in him.
